Baba-Ahmed Warns PBAT Not To Run For Second Term

…Says APC Is Becoming A Refugee Camp

…Insists No Rift Between Tinubu, Shettima

…Urges Atiku To Support Younger Presidential Candidate

A former Special Adviser on Political Matters to President Bola Tinubu, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Lacks the Zeal to fix Nigeria.

Baba Ahmed, who served in the Office of the Vice President, told Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, that he joined the government with high hopes and expectations, but ultimately found the experience disappointing.

He described the president as “really and genuinely isolated,” whether by choice or circumstance, and stressed that this isolation poses a challenge for the country

Also, he accused both the Buhari and Tinubu administrations of abandoning the SouthEast geo-political zone.

“Nobody is caring about the Southeast for the past 10 years,” he said.

“The way the Tinubu government is going, no, I won’t go back. I’ve done my bit,” adding that he would be no better than politicians who jump from one party to another.

“I have no problem in his being legitimately elected as president. But history will be fair to him, even at the states, he galvanised his governors to look for younger ones. He should also not run.

“They said he governed Lagos very well for 8 years, but I don’t know.”

When asked why he also called on Atiku not to contest, the former ACF spokesperson insisted that Atiku should equally take on a statesmanlike role by supporting a younger candidate.

“If PDP were to pick a younger person with less baggage, they will give APC a good fight,” he said.

Commenting on the ongoing wave of defections to the ruling APC, Baba-Ahmed stated that opposition governors and party chieftains were seeking protection from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“APC is becoming a refugee camp. The people running to APC from PDP have political baggage.”

He, however, dismissed reports of a rift between President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, stating that both men were working perfectly well together.
