First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has commended the Rotary Club for its continued commitment to humanitarian service and alignment with the state's development goals.
The First Lady gave the commendation at the Fundraising and Investiture Ceremony of Adekunmilola Adio-Moses as the 22nd President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu who was represented at the occasion by the wife of the state's Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Funmilayo Omotoso, praised the organization’s efforts in promoting health, education, and community development; key focus areas of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
She noted that Rotary's interventions align with the state government’s THEMES+ agenda, which emphasizes healthcare, education, social welfare, and sustainable urban development.
“Rotary’s dedication to community service strongly complements our administration’s efforts to improve the lives of Lagosians.
“As we celebrate this milestone, I urge everyone here to reflect on how we can collectively make a difference. With partnerships like these, we can build a more equitable and prosperous society for all,” she said.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu also called on other non-governmental organizations and stakeholders to emulate Rotary’s model of service and civic responsibility.
Also speaking at the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, who served as guest speaker, commended the Club for its impactful initiatives aimed at uplifting the less privileged.
In his acceptance speech, the new President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, Adio-Moses, reaffirmed the Club’s commitment to humanitarian service.
“We will serve not for recognition, but because we genuinely care. We will give, not for applause, but because the needs around us are real,” he said.
Adio-Moses also urged members to work together in unity, stating, “Let us work together in harmony, leveraging our diverse strengths and experiences. Unity will be our strategy; service will be our identity".
