Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has urged President Bola Tinubu to keep aside party solidarity and tell the country the truth about what he inherited from erstwhile President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Sani claimed it was unfair to ask poor Nigerians to make sacrifices without knowledge of details of what happened under the last administration. BREAKING: Ibori, Wike, Makinde In Closed-door Meeting With President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu is currently having a closed-door meeting with the former governors of Rivers and Delta states, Nyesom Wike and James Ibori, respectively, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Makinde, Wike, and Ibori arrived at the State House at about 4:20 pm. Recall that Tinubu and Ibori served as governors between 1999 and 2007. There has been an unconfirmed rumour that Ibori may soon defect to the APC, whereas Wike and Makinde are members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who formed the G-5 group of governors and worked against Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, during the just concluded presidential election.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has disclosed that he would be resuming on June 14 after the inauguration of the 10th House of representatives. President Bola Tinubu appointed Mr Gbajabiamila, who is the incumbent Speaker, as his Chief of Staff. In a tweet on Friday on his verified handle, Mr Gbajabiamila said he will resume on June 14. “Having spent the last 20 years in the Nigerian Parliament, and after winning my 6th term election into the National Assembly, I shall work with Mr President in discharging the enormous task ahead of him for the peace and progress of the federal republic of Nigeria. “I shall give my best when I take office on June 14 2023 as reflected in Mr. President’s official letter,” he said.

Fuel scarcity: Queues Won’t Exceed Saturday – NNPC

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has said that the fuel queues being witnessed across the country will not exceed Saturday (3rd June). The NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, disclosed this during an interview on Channels on Thursday.  He said: “I don’t see it staying beyond another day or two, maximum. It can actually be on Saturday. We have supplies. The key trouble with the PMS system is supply, but I have supplies. “There are over 810 million litres of PMS in depots, tanks and fuel stations across the country, so you don’t have the problem of transferring those from marine to land, you already have them on the ground.”  The NNPCL boss, however said, the local production of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol, by Dangote Refinery, Port Harcourt Refining Company and others in Nigeria is not going to change the pump price of the commodity.
