ACCIDENTS: TRACE Tasks Motorists On Road Safety Measures

Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has charged motorists to be more careful and obey traffic rules and regulations to reduce road accidents.

The Commander of TRACE, Mr Seni Ogunyemi, gave the charge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun.

"Ogunyemi reacted to the death of about 10 people on Tuesday due to an accident on Kere Bridge on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in which seven people were also injured.

He also noted that three people were injured on Monday in an accident at Tollgate in Ogun.

“Drivers should imbibe some levels of decorum as both the federal and state governments are making efforts to repair the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

Ogunyemi said that he had directed all TRACE area commanders to deploy personnel to all failed portions of roads in the state.

He said that TRACE would collaborate with other agencies to ensure safety on the roads.

Ogunyemi said that more road signs would be put at various locations to sensitise road users about any hazards ahead of them.
