Son of President Bola Tinubu, Seyi, has dismissed allegations of the newly elected President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah.
Recall that Isah at a press conference held in Abuja on Wednesday, April 30, accused Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, of attempting to bribe him with N100 million in Lagos in exchange for his support in promoting the president.
The NANS leader stated that he rejected the offer, expressing his unwillingness to endorse a president who had not fulfilled his electoral promises.
Isah went on to allege that after turning down the bribe, he was subjected to a violent attack, stripped of his clothes, and abducted by unknown assailants on April 15.
He said, “I was abducted on the 15th of April. I was stripped naked and seriously beaten. They threatened to release a video.
“They told me nothing would happen if they released the video, and even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up.
“I made it clear that even if I were shot, I would still come to this hall. The inauguration proceeded, and I was announced as president. I want Nigerians to know what happened and that we will not give up. Seyi Tinubu can do anything he wants, but we are determined.”
In a response shared on his Instagram stories on Friday, Seyi Tinubu dismissed the allegations as baseless fabrications aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
He emphasized that he had never met with the NANS President, Comrade Atiku Isah, nor had he participated in any discussions with him. Additionally, Seyi Tinubu categorically denied being involved in any activities that would include thugs or violence.
He said, “Wow. How can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.”
“I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before, nor did I visit any location with thugs,” he added.
“All these allegations made by Atiku Isah are completely fictional.”
