Suspended governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday evening.

This was disclosed by the presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, vis his X handle, where he posted photos of the duo during the meeting.

“Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers, now on suspension from office, visited President Bola Tinubu in Lagos on Tuesday,” Onanuga captioned the photos he posted on his X handle on Tuesday evening.

The details of what transpired during the visit remains sketchy, however, there are indications that Fubara may soon be restored as governor.

Recall that the President suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months over the prolonged political crisis in the state.

He also declared an emergency rule in Rivers and appointed a former Chief of Navy Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas (retd), as the state’s sole administrator.
